Pridemore Fleming Obituary
He was born on March 25, 1937, to Mertie Stanley and Kurtis Fleming in Clintwood, VA. He was the eighth of nine children. He grew up in Clintwood, where he met the love of his life, Renedia Rose. They were married on February 2, 1957, and enjoyed 68 years of marriage. Together, they had two daughters: Patsy Lois and Bettie Susan.
Pete retired from The Washington Post in 1990 after 30 years of service. He was a member of the Mailers Union M-29 and served as an elected officer, Sergeant-at-Arms. He loved golf, baseball, and football. His favorite teams were the New York Yankees and the Washington Commanders.
He is survived by his wife, Renedia Rose Fleming; his beloved dog, Lulu; his children, Patsy Lois Phillips (Romanus Hunter Phillips, preceded in death) and Bettie Susan Rowe (James Matthew Rowe); grandchildren, Amberly Helen Slack (Gerald Warren Slack) and Renedia Rose Rowe; blended grandchildren, Gina Marie Phillips (Nicholas Pilatsky), Donna Maria Rogers (Dave Rogers), and Anthony Hunter Phillips; great-grandchildren, Peyton S., blended great-grandchildren Amanda C., Melanie W., Ian H., Halie R., Johnny R., Nicholas P., and Madison P.; and several great-great-grandchildren.
Service details will be announced at a later date.
