Priscilla Ancheta

(nee Itliong), age 87. Peacefully passed away on February 10, 2026. Beloved wife of 61 years to Rogelio Villanueva Ancheta; dearest mother of Priscilla, Jr. (Margaret Masterson), Michael (Eva), Susan (Paul Gordon) and Karen Ybarra (Sunny); loving grandmother of Paz and Nayeli; dear sister of Nieva Malasaga, Lino Itliong (Nora), Salvacion Sison (Rolando), Roberto Itliong, Jr. (Carmen) and the late Corazon Sese; loving aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Born on July 7, 1938, to Roberto and Fructuosa Espiritu Itliong, Dr. Ancheta practiced medicine for 53 years, spending most of it caring for thousands of children in Cleveland, the Philippines, and various mission trips.
Priscilla, or Pering/Prescy, spent her childhood in Pozorrubio, Pangasinan, in the Philippines, happiest with her many cousins. Known by her childhood classmates as the Class Scientist, and with the support and sacrifice of her parents, Priscilla pursued studies in Medicine and graduated from the University of Santo Tomas, Manila, in 1962.
Priscilla spent the early part of her career working in hospital in the Philippines before immigrating to the United States in 1964. She spent her residency years with many of her UST classmates in Cleveland, serving at Mt. Sinai Hospital, Doctor's Hospital, Booth Memorial Hospital, and University Hospitals Rainbow Babies and Children. In her role as Chief Resident at Mt. Sinai, Priscilla taught and looked after the young doctors in her charge. From 1979 until retiring in 2015, Priscilla cared for patients in her own practice at Severance Medical Building, while also greeting her newborn patients at Booth Memorial, Rainbow, and Hillcrest Hospitals.
Priscilla was an active member of the Philippine American Society of Ohio (PASO), the Association of Philippine-American Physicians of Ohio (APPO), the American Philippine Physicians Association (APPA), and was a President and Founding Member of the Philippine Pediatric Society in America Ohio Chapter (PPSA).
Unshakeable faith anchored every aspect of Priscilla's life, guiding her heart and mind in all her intentions, actions, and interactions. Priscilla lived her life quietly, in gratitude and with extraordinary generosity, sprinkled with unexpected humor. She was loved and admired by her peers, the patients she cared for, her close circle of friends, and every member of her family. She will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions in memory of Priscilla to the Association of Philippine-American Physicians of Ohio (APPO), the Philippine Pediatric Society in America (PPSA) or the American Cancer Society.
Funeral Mass Friday, February 20, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. at Church of the Gesu. (Please meet at the church.) Interment Lake View Cemetery.
