Priscilla Cooke Hartwig (nee Lee), 83, of Ottawa, passed away Friday, December 26, 2025 at her home.
Cremation rites have been entrusted to Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial of cremated remains will take place in New Jersey.
Priscilla was born October 23, 1942, in New Brunswick, NJ to Daniel and Clare (Gibbons) Lee. She married George Cooke on June 20, 1965 in New Brunswick, NJ. He preceded her in death on December 24, 1978.
She earned her EdD in education and went on to be a professor of education at St. Xavier University. Her areas of academic interest included pedagogy, brain function, and brain formation. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, baking, and especially caring for her dog, Tallie.
She is survived by her children, James (Judith) Cooke of Killingworth, CT, Sean Cooke of Ottawa, and Mara (Craig) Cline of Inglewood, CA; and her grandson, Jamison Cooke of Killingworth, Ct.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Clare; as well as her husband, George.
