Priscilla “Meme” Zajac, 85, of Morehead City, North Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at Wake Med, Raleigh Campus.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Friday, February 28th at Munden Funeral Home.
Born on October 9, 1939, in Hampsted, New York, Meme was the daughter of the late Clarence and Esther Neu.
Known for her strong will, Meme was a force of nature, embodying strength, and resilience. As the revered matriarch of her family, her selfless devotion was seen in every aspect of her life. She was well known for her love of the color purple which reflected her unique and fun personality.
As a loving wife, nurturing mother, proud grandmother, and supportive aunt, she was the heartbeat of her family, who will be greatly missed.
Those remaining to cherish her memory are her loving and devoted husband of 62 years, George Zajac; daughter, Robin Mattson (Johnnie) of Newport; son, John Zajac of Morehead City; and grandchildren, Elizabeth-Noelle Jenkins (Wesley) and Johnnie Mattson Jr.
In addition to her parents, Meme was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Neu.
