Obituary
Quanterris Dajuan Baldwin, 35, passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2026, in his home in
Tampa, Florida. Formerly of
Sanford, NC born with a heart as big as his frame, Quanterris was known for being both a gentle teddy bear at home and a fierce protector in the world. His deep voice and "Hulk-like" stance were legendary among family and friends-yet underneath it all was a man full of kindness, humor, and unwavering loyalty.
Quanterris was a dedicated father and took immense pride in his two sons, Amari and Hayden, and he recently celebrated becoming a grandfather to baby Ky'Yere, who brought him immeasurable joy. He shared an unbreakable bond with his mother, Christy Baldwin, and who was his constant source of strength.
He earned his degree in Criminal Justice from Fayetteville State University, proudly walking across the stage ready to take on the world. Quanterris lived with intention-fueling his days with gym sessions, healthy meals, and a drive to better himself. Anyone who knew him could tell you: he didn't just walk into a room; he filled it.
Above all else, Quanterris lived for his family. He was their shield, their provider, and their safe place. His laughter, his presence, and his unique mix of toughness and tenderness will forever be cherished by all who loved him.
Quanterris leaves behind a legacy of strength, love, and protection-a reminder that even the strongest hearts can be gentle, and the gentlest souls can be strong.
He was born on May 4, 1990, in Sanford to Christy Baldwin and the late Patrick Beathea Sr. He was the oldest of four children on his mother's side and the oldest of ten on his father's side - making him the eldest of 14 siblings in total. He took his role as big brother seriously and was fiercely protective of his brothers and sisters.
He matriculated through the public schools of Lee County and Wake County and later graduated from Smithfield-Selma High School (SSS). After high school, he continued his education at Fayetteville State University.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Carolyn Baldwin; his father, Patrick Bethea Sr.; one aunt, Kim Baldwin; and his son's mother, Dashontia Howell.
He leaves to cherish and celebrate his life his children, Amiri Ra'shawn Baldwin, Hayden Trent Baldwin, and his grandson, Ky'Yere Ra'shawn Baldwin; mother, Christy Rashawn Baldwin Brown (Tajammal); siblings, Shinia (Robert) Reed, Tymaris Baldwin, Keylan Baldwin, Patrina Bethea, Patrick Bethea, Patrice Bethea, Shondell Bethea, Dasia Jackson, Kaliyah Bethea, Katrell Bethea, and Rondell McKoy; aunts and uncles, Anthony Baldwin (Crystal), Vincenta Baldwin, Tyrone Bethea, Patty Bethea, Anthony Wicker (Claudette) and Marcus Wicker; a bonus mom, Kenyata Daniel; his Godmother and Aunt, Claudette Griffen Wicker, a special cousin, Tonie Shaw, a special friend, Ja'Niyah Rose; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He will be deeply missed, but the memories he created will continue to uplift those who knew him.
