Queen Esther White Anderson, one of twelve children, was born on March 22, 1933, to the late William & Alice Giles White. She departed this life on October 18, 2025.
Queen received her education from the Oak Grove Elementary School, the Russell Grove High School and the Tuskegee Institute.
Queen accepted Christ at an early age and joined Mt Level Baptist Church. She was a faithful member until moving to New York City in 1954 where she joined the Metropolitan Baptist Church. While in New York, Queen worked for several companies, most notably the, L & M Castings Jewelry Co. She worked for L & M for twenty-five years holding the position as Executive Director for the last ten years of employment.
Queen return home to Virginia and rejoined Mt. Level Baptist Church in 1993. She was a faithful member who attended Sunday School and Worship service regularly until her health declined. She was a member of the Sisterhood Ministry, the Sanctuary Choir and the Missionary Ministry where she held the positions of chairperson and secretary.
Queen was also a member of the Jolly Sunshine Adult Group and served as the Recreation Coordinator for many years.
Queen was an avid reader who loved to travel domestically and internationally. She loved spending time with family and friends and later in life, playing games on her IPAD.
Queen was married to the late Linwood Anderson, Jr. She was also preceded in death by her eleven siblings; granddaughter Leah Crawley; grandson Jermaine Crawley; great-granddaughters A'Nique Delaney & Jaleah Crawley.
Queen leaves to cherish her memory: children Geraldyne (Joseph) Owens, of Amelia, VA; Michael White of Richmond, VA; Amber (Harold) Hillard of Scotch Plains, NJ; Tonette Howell of Midlothian, VA; Min. Geneva (Winston) Cummins of St Albans, NY; Linwood Anderson, III of Manhattan, NY; 14 grandchildren -Douglas, Brian, LaQueena, Victor Jr, Shane'e, Di'Andra, Curtis, Karess, Kristin, Christopher, Coutrney, Davon, Tressa, Dominic; 24 great-grandchildren – Malik, Ahmir, Amari, Joseph, Jaylen, Justin, Jendayi, Zechariah, London, Lyric, Imani, Jermaine Jr, Victory, Justice, Noah, Madison, Jordyn, Liam, Kristian, Riley, Chase, Diamond, Jada, Kayla; 3 great- great grandchildren: Siyir, Malaya, Royalty; Bonus children: Derrick & Wandra Harris of DE; Zandra Harris of Bronx, NY; Bonus grandchildren: Jazzlyn Harris and Patrick Rawlins of Bronx, NY; one daughter in-law Celeste Anderson of East Strausburg, PA; one sister in-law Delseta White; niece Jaseth Anderson; 4 nephews – Racior & Harry Cavole, David White, Harold Mann; & a host of great- nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family and friends including devoted cousin Barbara Love and devoted friend Edna Hayes.
