Quincy Proctor Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Elgin Funeral Home on Oct. 3, 2023.

I tried to live in this old world, and I did the best I could, but when God reached out His hand, I grabbed on and was led home.  I know God will open wide your understanding as to why these things must be. Dying is only a part of living, therefore celebrate my life…

Quincy Dewayne Proctor-Roberson was born to Herbert Roberson and Paula Hughes on September 4, 1977, in Temple, Texas.

Growing up with a steady Christian foundation, Quincy, accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Neighborhood Baptist Church in Austin, Texas. As a nurturing young man, Quincy attended the public schools of Bastrop County, and graduated in 1996 from Bastrop High School.  Quincy continued his education at Austin Community College and received an associate degree.  Quincy worked for the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier for twenty-two years.

Quincy was very compassionate when spending time with family and friends. He was loved by all. He had a personality that was kind and loving along with a positive attitude. He was very proud of his three sons.

Your wings were ready, but our heart was not…

On Sunday, October 1, 2023, Quincy heard the voice of Jesus and left his earthly tabernacle. Quincy went home to be with his mother, Paula Hughes.

Quincy was blessed with forty-six years, he loved his children, missed his Mother...this strong God-fearing man’s legacy will be cherished by his three sons, Jaedon, Isaiah, and Noah Proctor of Round Rock, Texas; his father, Reverend Herbert Roberson of Waelder, Texas; his step-mother, Rose Mary Hodge of Cedar Creek, Texas; three brothers, Victor Veal, Iran Hodge, and Roszun Hodge of Cedar Creek, Texas; three sisters, Quintessa, and husband, Arton Lewis of Killeen, Texas, Kenyata and husband, Jason Trigg of Bastrop, Texas, and Victoria Roberson and finace, Rickie Steemer of Cedar Creek, Texas; his special friend, Shiree Wright of Bastrop, Texas; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other relatives and friends, including the United States Postal Service.

… think of him as living in the hearts of those he touched… for nothing loved

is ever lost and he was loved so much…

Family and Friends will gather for A Celebration of Quincy's Life at Elgin Funeral Home, Monday, October 16th at 11:00 AM with Reverend Lee Yarbrough presiding.  Inurnment will be private.
