Quinner Williams Obituary

Published by Weed Corley Fish Funeral Homes and Cremation Services - North on Mar. 14, 2018.
On March 14, 2018, Quinner Floyd Williams, Jr., husband, father and brother-in-law, passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife and daughters. He had just celebrated his 60th birthday the week before. Quinner was born in Austin, Texas on March 6, 1958 to Quinner F. Williams and Margaret Merle (Henderson) Williams, both deceased. He grew up in Austin attending Lucy Read and Gullett Elementary, Burnet Junior High, Anderson High School and Austin Community College. He followed in his dad's footsteps and was a lifelong State employee. Quinner had many interests including history and genealogy. While at Burnet Junior High, he met Janet (Hejl) Williams, the love of his life. What started out as friendship became love and so much more. They were married on December 2, 1994 and were blessed with two beautiful daughters who Quinner adored with all his heart and soul. He always made sure his wife and daughters knew how much they meant to him and they did the same for him. Quinner faced many health issues, cancer and kidney failure, but always fought them so he could be with his family. Many have their own definition of courage, but Quinner was our idea of what courage really is. In the end, those illnesses were what took him away far too soon from his family and friends. Quinner is pre-deceased by his parents, his grandparents, Millie (Conn) Henderson and Quinner and Zula (Kelley) Williams, an infant brother and his father and mother-in-law, John Bryce and Laverne (Heine) Hejl. He will be forever lovingly remembered by his wife, Janet, daughters, Christina and Celeste Williams, sister-in-law, Diane Hejl, brothers-in-law, John Hejl, all of Austin and Bill Hejl of Apopka, Florida, aunts, Annette (Williams) Jones of Redlands , CA and Dorothy (Williams) Nolte of New Braunfels, TX, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. We would like to thank the staff at Retirement Nursing Center, the entire staff at Waterloo Dialysis, all of his nurses at Seton IMC and ICU, especially Brian, who cared for Quinner in his last hours of life, Nurse Practitioner, Melanie Palmer for all of her care and help throughout Quinner 's stay at Seton, and Dr. Berg for his kindness and time talking and listening to Quinner. Also, Chaplains Tommy Williams and Ryan for their friendship, kindness and spiritual guidance for Quinner and Janet in this difficult time. None of you will ever be forgotten. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 20th at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home on North Lamar. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at Austin Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Austin Pets Alive, The Lance Armstrong Foundation, The National Kidney Foundation or the charity of your choice.

Four years ago we lost you and it still seems like yesterday. The pain has eased but there is still an empty place only you could fill. Our lives were forever changed on this day and they will never be the same. Although it was hard to lose you, my love for you remains and you are no longer suffering. Until the day we meet again, we send you our love sweetheart,
Love, Janet, Christy and Celeste

Time is moving forward without you here with us. Three years since you left us. But just because you are not here physically does not mean you are not here. We think of you every day. The girls are doing well, but you know that. They are growing into strong, smart and beautiful women. We are doing what you asked of us in your last hours, to be strong and to live and love again. Just know we miss you still and always will. Until we see you again, we love you.

Quinner, this is not good bye. Just like the song, it is I'll see you when my chores are through. Until then, watch over Christy, Celeste, Diane and I. We all miss you so much! I'd give almost anything for one more kiss, one more hug, one more day with you. Just know we will make you proud by doing our best to carry on. I know you are no longer in pain and you are whole and healthy again. Love you always my sweetheart, to the moon and back a zillions times.

Janet & daughters, I'm so sorry about Quinner's passing. I know he fought hard to overcome the many health issues these past few years. I always thought that somehow...that his health would be restored. Instead, God called him home and gave him perfect health for eternity. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this stressful time.
