R. Bruce Dold Obituary
Bruce spent more than four decades at the Tribune, rising from suburban reporter to editor-in-chief. A Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, he was known for his integrity, compassion, and unwavering belief in journalism's power to serve the public good.
He cherished time with his family. He first met his wife, Eileen, as a young reporter for the Suburban Trib. They were married for 43 years.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Eileen, their daughters, Kristen (Peter) and Megan (Boris), his sisters Catherine and Lisa, and five grandchildren: Peter, Isabel, Mae, Oliver and Finn, who were his pride and joy. He was a cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews, and a colleague, mentor and friend to countless others.
Visitation Friday, December 12, from 10 am until time of Mass, 11 am, at St. Francis Xavier Church in La Grange.
