R. Leroy Harsh Sr.

Martinsburg, WV – R. Leroy Harsh, Sr., 90, of Martinsburg, WV went home to be with the Lord surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, January 1, 2026, at his home.
He was born on October 30, 1935, in Sharpsburg, Maryland to the late Nelson Andrew Harsh, Sr. and Thelma Catherine (Baker) Harsh.
He was employed by the Carpenter's Union Local #132 in Washington, D.C. until his retirement. Leroy was very proud to be able to use his skills as a Carpenter to help with the renovation of the National Cathedral and the State Department in Washington, D.C.
Leroy was a 1954 graduate of Williamsport High School.
He was a member of the Downsville Christian Church Downsville, MD.
He was a charter member of the Boy Scout Troop from Downsville Christian Church and was also a member of the Marlowe Ruritan.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Caroline Lucinda (Hoover) Harsh whom he married on August 9, 1958; daughter Wendy Lee Martz and her husband Rick of Martinsburg, WV; son Jeffrey Lee Harsh and his wife Susie of Waynesboro, PA; sisters Pearl A. Hubble of Hagerstown, MD and Mary Rose Webb of Williamsport, MD; brothers Nelson A. Harsh of Williamsport, MD and David J. Harsh of Williamsport, MD; grandchildren Samantha L. Verdi (Anthony), Hailey N. Martz, and Jared L. Harsh; numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son Ronald L. Harsh, Jr.; sisters Rebecca Rose Harsh and Thelma C. Linn; brothers Marvin A. Harsh and Mervin L. Harsh.
The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home, P.A. 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. The funeral home will be open after 1:00 pm on Wednesday for the convenience of family and friends.
Graveside services will be held at Rest Haven Cemetery Hagerstown, MD on Friday, January 9, 2026, at 2:00 pm.
