R. Louise Thomas

Roiann Louise Thomas was born on March 25, 1972, in Keosauqua, IA to Mabel Louise Poling and Roy Reuben Thomas. She entered into the arms of her Lord and Savior on February 17, 2026, at the Country Lane Manor Care Center in Keosauqua.

Louise resided in rural Keosauqua. After the passing of her mother and stepfather, she went to live at Center Village where she quickly made friends with staff and residents. At the time of her stepmother's death, Marsha Appleman became her guardian and special friend. She went on to live in Fairfield in a group home until her declining health required her to move to the Country Lane Manor Care Center where she peacefully passed in her sleep.

Louise attended the Van Buren Community School. Louise, affectionately called "Weezy", was a vibrant and outgoing person who never knew a stranger. She loved to dance and enjoyed rock and roll music. Her favorite hobby and passion was coloring... Whenever you visited her, she always had artwork to show you and would generously offer you a picture to take home. Louise loved Diet Pepsi and Diet Mountain Dew and always enjoyed a car ride with a stop at Misty's for ice cream.

Louise was preceded in death by her mother, M. Louise Poling Cole, her stepfather, Raymond (Red) Cole and her stepmother, Lucille Cole.

Special thanks to those who have cared for Louise over the years. Center Village in Keosauqua, IA, Total Care and First Resources in Fairfield, and the Country Lane Manor Care Center. A heartfelt appreciation to the team at Hospice Compassus who lovingly tended to Louise this past year. She loved you all and enjoyed your presence in her life.

Graveside services will be held at the Pittsburg Cemetery on Tuesday, February 24 at 11:00 a.m. with Chaplain Brad Moore officiating. Friends may leave online condolences at www.cranstonfamilyfuneralhome.com.

Her beautiful smile and spunky, if not ornery, spirit will be missed by all who knew our fiery little redhead.
