Rachel Fern Dawley, age 95 of Joplin, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at St. Luke's Care Center in Carthage, Missouri. Rachel was born October 28, 1929 in Pittsburg, Kansas to the late Jacob and Alta (James) Wallace.
Rachel was a graduate of Mindenmines High School. She soon married Fredrick E. Dawley on June 12, 1951 and she followed her husband in the military, taking care of the children and the home while he was away. Fredrick passed away in 2015 after 64 years together. She was a member of Park Plaza Christian Church of Joplin.
Additionally, Rachel is preceded in death by a son, David Dawley and sisters, Norma Jean, Leota and Alice.
Those left to mourn her passing include her two sons, Larry Dawley of Olathe, Kansas and James Dawley and wife, Susan of Carthage; daughter in-law, Carol Dawley of Joplin; 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services are planned for Monday, June 23, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at the Diamond City Cemetery, Diamond, Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Park Plaza Christian Church in care of the mortuary.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
