Donald R. Dawley, of Brookfield, cherished husband of Maria M. (Nascimento) Dawley, died at Danbury Hospital on Monday, May 26, 2025. He was born in New Britain, CT on September 7, 1957, son of the late Donald and Caroline (D'Amato) Dawley.
Donald worked as an Asset Protection Supervisor for BJ's in Brookfield. He was a passionate Boston Red Sox fan, rarely missing a game and always cheering on his team with unwavering loyalty. He loved to golf and cherished time spent on the course with friends and family. Travel was one of his greatest joys-he loved to vacation and explore new places, but his heart was always most full when surrounded by loved ones. One of his most treasured memories was a day spent on a beach in Brazil with his family, which he often described as one of the best days of his life.
In addition to his devoted wife of 22 years, Maria, he will be missed by his children, Roney Araujo, Gabriela Chan, Sara Franco and her husband, Orlando Medina; and Jessica, Justin, and the late Joshua Dawley; and four grandchildren, Eric, Joshua, Eduarda and Joseph. He is also survived by his brother, Russell Dawley and his wife, Erika; and three sisters, Christine Bird, Robin Dawley, and Colleen and her husband, Kevin Levesque; and many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Thursday, May 29th between the hours of 5:00 – 7:00pm.
A funeral service will be on Friday, May 30th at 11am at the funeral home. Burial in Wooster Cemetery will follow.
