Roberta O'Hara Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cornell Memorial Funeral Home on Nov. 10, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

Roberta S. O'Hara ("Bobbi"), born June 27, 1939, in Brooklyn, New York, and a longtime resident of Danbury, Connecticut, and later of Half Moon, New York, passed away after a short battle with cancer on October 30, 2025, at the age of 87.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, Bobbi moved to Danbury as a teenager and graduated from Danbury High School in 1957. She began her career with American Cyanamid, where she was selected to transfer from the Danbury office to the company's headquarters in New York City.
Throughout her life, Bobbi held many roles, but the ones she cherished most were as a devoted wife, loving mother, and proud grandmother. She was an avid golfer and gardener and found great satisfaction in keeping an impeccably organized home - often calling her cleaning "therapeutic."
Bobbi loved traveling with her husband, Jim, creating wonderful memories in Bermuda, Ireland, Hawaii, and Alaska, and spending winters in Florida with dear friends. Her thoughtfulness, generosity, and caring nature made her the steady heart of her family, always ready to help whenever anyone needed support.
Bobbi was predeceased by her mother, Helen Coughlin, and her beloved husband of 59 years, James O'Hara. She is survived by her children: Gregory J. O'Hara and his wife Mary E. O'Hara of Danbury, CT; Susan O'Hara and her children, Timothy Hayes and Bethany Hayes, of Halfmoon, NY; and Mark O'Hara and his wife Lauren O'Hara, and their daughters, Elizabeth and Katherine O'Hara, of Suffield, CT.
Her warmth, friendship and unwavering love will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.
A calling hour will be held at 10am at St. Gregory the Great Church, 85 Great Plain Road in Danbury, immediately followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 11 am on Wednesday, November 26, 2024. Burial will be immediately following at St. Peter's cemetery on Mill Plain Rd in Danbury.
