Marvin E. Merrill, of Danbury, beloved husband of the late Tarsia Merrill, died at Danbury Hospital on Monday, October 27, 2025. He was born in Malone, NY on November 18, 1947, son of the late Gilbert Merril and Cecilia (Humiston) Genaway.
Marvin enjoyed the great outdoors and was an avid bow hunter. He worked as a fork lifter operator for Pratt & Whitney and worked in aluminum recycling.
Marvin is survived by four children, Robin, John, Charlene, and Marvin Merrill; his stepchildren, Mary Stokes (Rodney), Richard Frederick (Amy), Robert Frederick (Jeanine), and Elizabeth Alexander (Joe); many grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Linda Merrill (David Thacker), and Sue Bernard (Mike) and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother, Terry Genaway; and his stepfather, Leighton Genaway.
A funeral service will be held at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Tuesday, November 4th at 12:00pm. Burial in Wooster Cemetery will follow.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday morning between 11:00am – 12:00pm.
