Rachel Marie Jared, age 21, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on May 20, 2025. Born on July 15, 2003, Rachel was the beloved daughter of Kristi and Michael Jared and an amazing sister to Tony and Ryan Jared. Rachel graduated in 2021 from Marion-Franklin High School as the valedictorian. She was currently enrolled in Columbus State, furthering her education to become a nurse. Rachel was employed at Senior Star, working in their memory unit, where she carried on her passion for helping others.
Rachel was the best big sister ever. If she wasn't cheering on her brothers in the baseball stands or spoiling them with new things, she was playing taxi to get them to and from wherever they needed to be. Rachel loved playing softball and helping coach others. She found her faith in God about six months ago and started attending church on Sundays with her Mamal Cat. She loved taking trips to the zoo and grabbing a quick Starbucks coffee.
Rachel embodied grace and resilience, meeting every challenge with courage and a quiet strength that inspired all who knew her. Her life was a testament to the power of love and devotion, especially evident in her role as a caregiver to Grandma Black and Mama Brenda as well as all the residents that she treated as her own family.
Rachel is preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Hollis and Barbara Black, Jerry and Mary Lou Donaldson, Harold and June Price, Mary Mead, Dennis Jared, her grandfather Michael L Jared, great uncle Jerry Donaldson Jr., great uncle Allen Price, great uncle Dan Black, great aunt Diane Black, and cousin Mya Price.
Left to carry on her memory are her loving parents, Michael and Kristi (Ryan) Jared; her brothers, Tony and Ryan Jared; her grandparents, Dennis and Cathy Price and Susan Jared; her boyfriend, Joshua Ayers; best friends, Heaven and Haylee Kise; aunts, uncles, cousins, many friends, and co-workers.
The family of Rachel would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported them during this difficult time. Your kindness, prayers, and comforting words have been a source of strength. They are deeply grateful for the love and support from friends, family, and the community. The generosity and compassion have meant the world to them.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, from 5 pm to 8 pm at LeaveAMark Church, 4818 Parsons Ave., Columbus, Ohio 43207. Services will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at 11 am at Leave A Mark Church. The burial will be at Fernwood Cemetery, Lockbourne, Ohio, immediately following the service. Arrangements entrusted to the O.R. WOODYARD CO. Funeral Home.
