She was a long-time and faithful member of the Wadesboro Church of God where she was active with the youth Sunday school class, Ladies Ministries and Willing Workers, Young at Heart Senior Citizens Group and always helping prepare meals for church functions and bereaved families. The church often sold fried apple pies throughout the year and Rachel was always among the cooks for those events, too.
