Asheville –Rachel Pagán, loving mother, sister, daughter, and friend, passed away on November 12, 2022, in Asheville, NC.
Rachel served in many ways, and made a profound impact on those around her.She first served in the U.S. Navy for 4 years.She then served as a registered nurse for 25+ years.She was also deeply engaged in service and fellowship of Narcotics Anonymous for 27+ years, connecting, supporting, serving and assisting others in maintaining their paths in recovery.
Rachel was born in Brooklyn, NY on September 7, 1956. She attended Prince George's Community College for Nursing School and graduated in 1984. She also attended University of North Carolina-Asheville and received her BA Degree in Religious studies. She then attended Piedmont University where she received her Masters Degree in Biblical Studies.
Rachel loved to read the Bible for its beautiful prose and spiritual meanings and wanted to share that with others. She became a clergywoman and officiated weddings.
Rachel is survived by her three children, Dylan Jackson, Talia Jackson, Aja Jackson and her grandchildren Taj Jackson and Tye Jackson. She is also survived by her mothers Eliza Santiago and Yolanda Pagán.
She is preceded in death by her father, Eddie Pagán, and her brother Gary Pagán.
A celebration of Rachel's life will be held at 5 PM on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home. Nurse's Honors will be provided by the N.C. Nurse Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Anders-Rice Funeral Home is honored to serve the Pagán family.
