Rachel Quick Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Fountain Funeral Home - Avon Park on Mar. 19, 2024.
Rachel Ann Quick, 67 of Sebring, Florida, left this earth on Wednesday, March 13, 2024.
Rachel was born in Chicago, Illinois on February 13, 1957 to the late Ernest Quick and Mary Jeanette Watts. Rachel attended Job Corp where she obtained her GED. She then entered the welding program, also at Job Corp. After graduating Rachel made a career of welding. Her first job was at East Moline Metals in East Moline, Illinois. She was hired as the first female welder at that facility. They were even nice enough to give her, her very own restroom. Something she liked to brag about. After leaving East Moline Metals, she was hired as a welder at John Deere in East Moline. In 1984 Rachel moved to Sebring, Florida. During her years in Florida she worked at Lesco, obtained her cosmetology and realty licenses, worked at Trade Secrets, and RE/MAX Realty. In 2013 Rachel made the long trek to Mitchell, South Dakota where she worked as a welder at Trail King. But Rachel didn't like being so far away from her kids and grandchildren and of course the Florida beaches, so in 2016 she made her way back down to Florida. After moving back down to Florida she worked as a welding instructor at Avon Park Correctional Institution.
Amongst many other interests, Rachel loved the beach, shopping, dancing, dogs, fashion, pop culture and reality TV was her thing. But her favorite was the cherished time spent with her family.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Jim Entwistle(Kelly), Faith McFarland(Trevor). Her grandchildren, Jeremiah, Gunner, Seth(Julia), Alexis, Kiersten, and Kayden. Her sisters Gloria Quick-Bunch and Doris Quick. Her nieces Cherokee(Justin), Natasha(Joel), Glo(Andrew), Sarah(Drew). And her nephews Austin and Jeremiah.
Rachel is predeceased in death by her parents, Ernest Quick and Mary Jeanette Watts, her brothers Ernest McGee and Brian McGee, her sister Mary Jeanette McGee, brother in law Acie Bunch, and of course her beloved dog, Pork Chop.
Viewing will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Fountain Funeral Home, US Hwy 27, Avon Park, Florida with services to follow thereafter.
