Rachel Fischer Rhea, age 91, of Ware Neck, died on Monday, December 22, 2025, at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital, Gloucester. Rachel was born on May 2, 1934, to the late Don R. Fischer, Sr., and Lounetta Watkins Fischer and graduated from Hampton High School class of 1952. Rachel was an accountant and had been a native of Ware Neck for over 60 years, as well as a member of Beulah Baptist Church. She loved her home, family, her church family, and neighbors, but helping others was a passion, and she will be missed by so many. She was preceded in death by her brother, Don R. Fischer, Jr. In July 2021, Rachel was preceded in death by her loving husband and soulmate of 67 years, Calvin W. Rhea. She is also survived by her daughter, Denise Rhea Carter (Al), sons, E. Keith Rhea (Lisa) and Don F. Rhea (Carol Brooks), nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, including her beloved niece, Sandra Nuttall, and her husband, Wayne, and special friends, John and Barbara Moody. A graveside service officiated by the Reverend Tom Cohick will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery, 5490 Ware Neck Road, Gloucester. VA 23061. In memory of our loved one, please consider making a memorial contribution to Beulah Baptist Church at P.O. Box 1519, Gloucester, VA 23061.
