Warren Rhea Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Mountain View Mortuary - Reno on Feb. 23, 2026.
Warren Lane Rhea, 82, of Carson City, Nevada passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2026. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

Warren was born January 9, 1944 in Lemoore, California to J D & Mildred Rhea, where he was the middle of five sons. He grew up in Lemoore, attended Lemoore High School and later moved to Reno, Nevada in 1967. He worked as a commercial cabinet maker for Powell Cabinets in Sparks, Nevada from 1975 to 1992 and then worked as the in-house carpenter at Boomtown Casino in Verdi, Nevada from 1992 until he retired in 2013.

He met his wife of 49 years, Carol, in 1972 on a bowling league at Town & Country Bowl (now High Sierra Lanes). They went on to continue bowling together for over 30 years. Whether he was bowling, shooting clay pigeons in competitions, deer hunting with his lifelong friends, trying to beat his brothers at playing pool, spending time on his boat trying to knock his kids and grandkids off the tube, attending one of his grandson's sporting events, or sitting on the beach at his most favorite place on earth, Cayucos Beach, he was happiest doing all of these things with his family and closest friends by his side.

Warren was preceded in death by his parents J D and Mildred, brothers Jerry and Bobby, and his son Lenny. He is survived by his wife Carol, sons Bobby and Scott, daughters Lora (Kurt) and Rebecca (Jeff), 8 grandsons Jacob, Nathan, Matthew, Blake (Pru), Kyle, Cody, Brandon and Bradley, 1 great-grandson Braxton, and brothers Ron (Ellie) and Don (Georgia).

Services will be held at Mountain View Mortuary in Reno, NV on March 6, 2026. Viewing will begin at 10am, services at 11am, immediately followed by a celebration of life reception at the same location.
