Rafael Gonzalez

Rafael Gonzalez, born on July 3, 1963, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 in his home in Fontana.

He was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco to Guadalupe Gonzalez Medina and Socorro Osorio Pena and was raised with 5 siblings: 3 brothers Alberto, Martin, and Bernardo and 2 sisters Maria and Guadalupe. He came to California when he was 18 years old to work in the fields up north. At 19, he began working at Sundowners Family Restaurant and continued to work there for 10 years. He later worked at Mission Car Wash in Riverside for about 15 years and The Cheesecake Factory in Riverside for 20 years, with some other jobs in between.

He loved watching fúbol Mexicano and his favorite team was Chivas de Guadalajara. He loved the Los Angeles Dodgers and his favorite player was Alexia Vesia. He enjoyed playing scratchers, buying lotto tickets, and going to the casino. He loved his snacks and drinks such as chile lime peanuts, shortbread cookies, pan Mexicano, Sunkist orange soda, and watermelon flavored Arizona.

He is survived by his wife Ramona and his 3 children Iliana, Veronica, and Pedro.
