Rafael Solivan, affectionately known to many as Ralph, passed away on May 17, 2024. Born on October 11, 1965, Ralph lived a life filled with laughter and resilience, touching the hearts of many with his humble nature and courageous spirit. His knack for seeing the funny side of life, even in the face of adversity, was a trait that endeared him to all who knew him.
Ralph was a man of great resilience, a trait that was evident throughout his life. He was never one to be deterred by the vicissitudes of life. He bore all hardships with a brave smile, setting an example for us all. Ralph's courage was not the kind that roared, but rather the quiet, steadfast kind that poet Robert Louis Stevenson spoke of when he said, "Quiet minds cannot be perplexed or frightened but go on in fortune or misfortune at their own private pace, like a clock during a thunderstorm."
Ralph was never married, but he was a devoted son, brother, and father. He is survived by his beloved mother, Gloria Rivera, his son Marcus Solivan, his siblings Jose Solivan, Daniel Solivan, Samuel Solivan, Nereida Solivan, and Heduin Solivan and his Companion: Eileen Coyle. He is preceded in death by his father, Dominico Solivan. The bond of love they shared was a testament to Ralph's humble and loving nature.
Please join us as we celebrate the life of Rafael Solivan on Saturday, June 1st, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, at Puerta Del Cielo® Funeral Home, 730 State Street, Springfield, Massachusetts, 01109. As we gather to honor Ralph, we remember the words of Helen Keller: "What we have once enjoyed deeply we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us."
As we remember and celebrate Ralph's life, we encourage all who knew him to share memories and upload photos to his memorial page. Let us keep his spirit alive with stories of his funny antics, his steadfast courage, and his resilient spirit.
