Mundo graduated from Colegio de Palmares, played for the local soccer team "El Barrial" with his brothers, and went on to work for Costa Rica's Social Security office in Guapiles. He emigrated to Dallas, TX in 1982 and immediately became a Cowboys fan and a goalie for the local soccer club "The Smokers". He learned the painting business and built Ray's Painting Company. After moving to Jacksonville, FL, Memphis and Nashville, TN, Welo retired in 1997 to take on his most prized role, full-time grandfather and soccer aficionado, especially Costa Rica's Club Sport Herediano. His greatest joy was being surrounded by family and checking in on his loved ones both near and far. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories, a legacy of kindness, and a family that will forever carry his love for others in their hearts.
