Ralph "Troy" Barkley, Sr., age 85, of Evans City, passed away on November 26, 2025.
He was born on July 23, 1940, at home on his grandparents' farm in Harmony.
Troy graduated from Evans City High School in 1958. He was co-captain of the undefeated football team his senior year. He attended Highlands University of New Mexico, where he played baseball. He was always active in sports, outdoors, and church. Troy was a member of the Evans City Sportsman Club.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 65 years, Beverly Stach Barkley of Evans City; his son, Scott (Tara) Barkley of Ramona, OK; his brother, Rodney (Judy) Barkley, of Wynne, AR; his sisters, Loretta (Ronald) Rice, of Prospect, Marilyn Carrol of Eugene, OR, Deloris Mangold of Wynne, AR, Trudy (Paul) Stroud, of Wynne, AR, and Lucinda Rutledge, of Springdale, AR; one grandson; one step-grandson; five great-grandchildren; and a multitude of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Troy was preceded in death by his son, Ralph Troy Barkley, Jr., and his sister, Dianna Watt, formerly of Sarver. Friends and family will be welcomed on Sunday, November 30, 2025, from 12:30 P.M. to 4:30 P.M. at Boylan Funeral Home, Inc., 116 E. Main Street, Evans City, PA 16033.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 1, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Evans City, 202 Van Buren St., Evans City, PA 16033.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Troy's honor to St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Evans City, 202 Van Buren St., Evans City, PA 16033.
He was a devoted husband, father, and servant. A man of few words, gentle, kind, and willing to help others. He is loved by many family members and friends and will be greatly missed. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Ralph, please visit our floral store.
