Ralph "Bigfoot" Clovis, long-time resident of Dunnellon, died Sunday, Oct. 29, 2023, following a fall at his beloved hunting camp in Salem, Florida.
He was born on Feb. 10, 1935, to W.H. & Lydia Clovis in McMinnville, Tennessee. Moving to Florida in 1942, he grew up in Apopka and worked for BellSouth for 43.5 years.
Ralph served his country in the Army and held multiple positions in his churches. His love for the outdoors found him either in the woods or on a boat fishing.
Ralph is survived by Barbara, his wife of 42 years, son David Clovis, stepdaughter Denise Quigley, nieces Cindy Parramore and Linda Hughes, nephew Chip Clovis along with 15 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, multiple "adopted" grands and greats and even a few extra children.
He was predeceased by his parents, brother Gilbert Clovis, his beloved daughter, Suzanne Ciani, and wife, Esther Raymond Clovis.
A Celebration of Life to honor Ralph will be held at 1 p.m., Dec. 16 at Dunnellon Presbyterian Church.
