Wichita, Kansas - Ralph Thomas DiMattia, 93, died Thursday, July 29, 2021. Born and raised in New York City, Ralph was a World War II Veteran, a Boeing Tool and Design Engineer, and a CRNA. Rosary and Vigil will be at 6:30 pm, Friday, August 6, 2021, at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am, Saturday, August 7, 2021, at Church of the Magdalen Catholic Church. Preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Margaret DiMattia; daughter, Mary Theresa DiMattia; sons-in-law, David Baade, Mike Carrell; daughter-in-law, Robin DiMattia. Survived by his wife, Mary Jo DiMattia; children, Renée Baade of Newtown, CT, Laure Knapp, Tom DiMattia, both of Wichita, Mark DiMattia of Phenix City, AL, Vincent (Cindy) DiMattia of Greensboro, NC, Anthony (Diane) DiMattia, Joseph DiMattia, both of Wichita, Margaret Ann (Clark) Bolan of Clearwater, KS, Annette Cabbage of FL, Andrea Carrell of Wichita, Gino DiMattia of Lima, OH; 25 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren. This was Dr. Robbies´s group of CRNAs. This was an outstanding group of anesthetists during the sixties and seventies. Ralph, Don, and Gary helped train these younger group of anesthesia providers and all were great guys and Ralph was the senior. The anesthesia profession was all the better for Ralph´s contribution to the profession.
