Ralph "Kip" Garner III

Ralph "Kip" Ollen Garner III, lovingly known as "Peep" to his family, passed away on June 3, 2025, at the age of 74 after a brave battle with Multiple Myeloma and other health conditions caused by Agent Orange exposure during his Active-Duty service in Vietnam.
Kip's life was a reflection of strength, love, and determination. A proud U.S. Navy Combat Veteran, Kip served four years as a Gunner's Mate aboard the USS O'Hare (DD-889). After returning to Alabama, he spent more than 30 years working in the shrimping and offshore industries, followed by 15 years delivering medical equipment to patients with compassion and care.
At the center of his world was his family. He was a loving husband to Kitty Garner, his high school sweetheart and wife of 55 years. Theirs was a partnership built on deep connection, respect, and enduring love-a bond that shaped and supported their family through every season of life. Kip is survived by his children, Kip Garner (Amanda Garner) and Elizabeth Garner; and by his treasured granddaughter, Erica Garner Davis (Javian Davis)-a reflection of his heart, faith, and pride. He was Peep to his beloved great-grandchildren, Jasiah, Jayla, Jonah, and Jazzlyn, who brought him endless joy and love. He also leaves behind his faithful dog, Girlie, who was never far from his side; as well as a host of extended family and friends will certainly miss him as well.
Kip was preceded in death by his mother, Opal Mae Elrod Garner, and his father, Ralph Ollen Garner Jr.
Kip was a man of many passions-racing cars, fishing, traveling, discovering new restaurants, and indulging in every sweet treat he could find. He lived life fully and left a legacy of warmth, humor, and strength.
Though he is no longer with us in body, we take comfort in knowing Peep is at peace and no longer in pain. His words will live on in our hearts, "Keep going and keep your head up." We love you, Peep. Always.
