Ralph Heffner

Ralph W. Heffner, Sr., age 90, passed away Wednesday, August 2, 2023. Husband of the late, Margaret (Porter) Heffner. Loving father of, Victoria Heffner, Ralph Heffner, Jr. and his wife Judith (Kruse) Heffner, Delores Heffner, the late Guy Heffner, Keith Heffner and his wife Catherine (Vest) Heffner, and Kurt Heffner. Proud grandfather to Kyle Heffner and his wife Cassandra (Oakes) Heffner, Stephen Heffner and his wife Cassidy (Shultz) Heffner, Dannielle (Heffner) Hagge and her husband Chris Hagge, Alex Heffner, Elizabeth Heffner and Christina Heffner. Devoted great grandfather to Molly McHone, Kayden Heffner, Caroline Heffner, Adelaide Udris, Emmett Heffner, and Liam Heffner. Survived by his sister Jane Caudill.
Ralph served his country in the Korean War and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army. He worked for Duke Energy (Cincinnati Gas and Electric) for 41 years. When he retired, he was District Supervisor for the Little Miami Overhead Electric Location. He served for 43 years with the Fairfax and Little Miami Joint Fire & Rescue Departments. He rose to the rank of Fire Chief with the Fairfax Volunteer Fire Department and Captain with Little Miami Joint Fire & Rescue. He was a member of the Ohio Fire Chiefs' Association. Ralph was a long-time resident of Fairfax, Ohio and was the 1999 Fairfax Citizen of the Year. He was a long-time member of Madeira - Silverwood Presbyterian Church.
Visitation will be Saturday August 5, 2023 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Strawser Funeral Home, 9503 Kenwood Road, Blue Ash, OH 45242. Memorial service will be Tuesday August 8, 2023 at 11:00 am in the Chapel at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 11000 Montgomery Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45249.
