Mr. Ralph A. Henson

Mr. Ralph Alonzo Henson, age 80, of LaFayette, Georgia, departed this life Saturday evening, July 23, 2011 at the Murray Medical Center in Chatsworth, Georgia. Ralph was born February 21, 1931 in Paulding Count, Georgia, a son of the late Riley J. Henson and Opal V. Culberson Thompson. He was a retired school bus driver for Whitfield County Schools. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth Irene “Libby� Sanders Henson, second wife, Lois Thompson Causey Henson, sons, Thomas “Tommy� Henson, Reverend Charlie Henson and Dennis Henson. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Diane Henson and John Howell of Villanow, GA, Wanda and Jackie Hensley, Joy and George Brewer all of Chatsworth, GA; step-children, Jack, Deborah and Jimmy Causey; brothers, Ottis and Frances Henson and Junior Henson; sisters, Connie Dyer and Deborah Henson; thirty seven grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Ralph A. Henson will be held Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with Reverend George Brewer and Reverend Randy Deal officiating. He will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife at the Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery in Rocky Face, Georgia, with Nathan Brewer, George Brewer, Jr., Joy Brewer, Josh Brewer, Dwight Crider, Anthony Brewer, Brett Bryson, Andrew Deal and Ralph Hensley serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. Monday and after 11:00 a.m. Tuesday morning until the funeral hour.
