Garden City Funeral Home - MissoulaRalph William Holliday, 80, of Missoula, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 14, 2025. He was born in Kansas City, Kansas, on May 28, 1945, to Ralph Edward and Mavis Holliday.
In 1969, Ralph married Mary Ellen O’Donnell, and together they had one child, Amy. In 1987 he found love again and married Elizabeth “Betsy” Yeo, with whom he shared 37 years of a loving and devoted marriage.
Ralph loved sailing, traveling, reading, cheering on his beloved Kansas City Chiefs and being with his family and close friends. His passion for sailing took him on many adventures with friends and family to the Caribbean.
He was a humble and quiet person who lived his values and helped others. Ralph’s kindness, generosity, and love for his family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Mavis Holliday; his wife Betsy Holliday; and his sister Rose Marie Maxey. He is survived by daughter Amy Tamietti of Missoula, MT; granddaughters Isabella and Charlotte of Missoula, MT; stepson Tom Yeo (Paola) of Raytown, MO; stepdaughter Alice Yeo of Tucker, GA, sister Connie Holliday of Quitman, TX; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will deeply miss him.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the compassionate staff at Edgewood Missoula for their exceptional care and kindness during Ralph’s final months.
A memorial service to celebrate Ralph’s life will be held at the Western Montana State Veterans Cemetery on Friday, September 19, 2025 at 1:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Animeals in Missoula, Montana - a no-kill cat shelter and pet food bank - in honor of Ralph’s lifelong love for cats. Contributions can be made at Animeals.com or by mail at 1700 Rankin Street, Missoula, MT 59808.
