Ralph Edwin Hutto, age 82, of Laurel Bloomery, Tennessee passed away on Friday, January 26, 2024 at his home. He was born September 24, 1941in Statesville, NC to the late Ralph Watkins Hutto and Jettie Gertrude Hutto. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Frances Rose Hutto; sons, Douglas Wayne Hutto, Michael Edward Hutto; son-in-law, Gary Woodard; sister, Sylvia Jean Howard; grandson, Gary Woodard II; and his dog/best friend of 16 years Nikita Snow.
Ralph was the Johnson County Veterans Service Officer. He took great pride in helping veterans and their families. Ralph served his country in the United States Marine Corps.
Those left to cherish his memories include his daughters, Lynne Estes (Glen); Lisa Woodard (Mike); son, Glenn Wilson (Judy); sisters, Doris Elizabeth Cox (Cecil), Janet Marie Ghant (Doug); brother, Glenn Everett Hutto (Linda); grandchildren, Christopher Sweatt, Jeremy Greene, Daniel Greene, Dustin Greene, Adrian Hall, Anthony Hall, Nicole McCauley, Megan Doane; 15 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; special friends, his Johnson County Veterans.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Mountain City Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Ted Lewis, Bill Morefield, and Dave Newbern to officiate. The graveside will follow the funeral service from the Stateline Cemetery with Military Honors to be accorded by the Johnson County Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Christopher Sweatt, Mike Lewis, Anthony Hall, Jeremy Greene, Daniel Greene, and Dustin Greene. Honorary pallbearers are Members of the Johnson County Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Johnson County Honor Guard, 123 Volunteer Lane, Mountain City, TN, 37683.
