Ralph Lee " Jake " Dailey Sr.

DAILEY,RALPH L. " JAKE " 84, passsed on June 23,2009 at his home in Pinellas Park,FL. Born in McLean, Virginia. Proudly served as an Army sergeant during WWII where he landed in Normandy, fought the Battle of the Bulge and attended the signing of the German surrender at Rheims, France. After serving in the European Theater, he boarded one of the only two ships sent to the Philippines. Awarded the Bronze Star, European Theater Medal,Asiatic-Pacific Medal, The American Campaign, The Freedom Medal and the City of Leominster Victory Medal. He settled in Leominster, MA. and married Rita Roy Dailey (deceased ), raised their family and was a business owner and auto body teacher for over 40 years. He retired in 1985 to Florida where he enjoyed bowling and fishing. He is predeceased by Rita Roy Dailey ( 1993 ). He is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Margaret, two sons, Ralph Jr. and Gary, one daughter, Deborah Marchand, two stepdaughters ,karen Browder and Nancy Pennington, one brother Norman and three sisters, Leona Glidden, Dorothy Williams and Shirley Cockrell. He had 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Services will be conducted at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home followed by Inurnment at Arlington National Cemetery.
