Ralph Donald Jones

Mr. Donald Jones, age 90, of Mansfield, Georgia passed away Thursday, December 1, 2022. He was born on April 2, 1932 to Ralph and Fleta Jones who have preceded him in death. Mr. Jones was a great athlete, especially basketball, all through high school. He graduated high school as valedictorian in 1949. Mr. Jones went to University of Georgia in 1953 on an academic scholarship and graduated Summa Cum Laude. He was second Lieutenant in the United States Army Reserve. Mr. Jones was a member of New Rocky Creek Baptist Church. He is also preceded in death by his siblings, Lois and Chalton Bates of Mansfield, Ga, Brenda and Jerry Burford of Griffin, Ga.
Mr. Jones is survived by his wife of 42 years, Rachel Jones; sons, Clifford and Diane Jones of Mansfield, Ga, David and Trisha Gammon of Williamston, NC; daughters, Karen and Jeff Greene of Americus, Debbie and Tony Harper of Madison, GA, Michelle and Brian Garner of Savannah, Ga; grandchildren, Maggie, Matthew (Kristine), Mason (Krista), Mack (Mackenzie) Green, Mallory (Clay) Ninas, Morgan (Preston) Lowther, Priscilla (Kevin) Colpo, Jake Jones, Jennifer (Jason) Hilsman, Courtney (Daniel) Pennington, Katie, Andrew Garner, Blaze and Kristi Gammon, Dustin McCoy; great-grandchildren, Chris, Chance, Jacob Hilsman, William, Matthew, Nathaniel Pennington, Silas, Owen, Harper, Walker, Berkley, Collins, Hampton, Grant Greene, Beckett, Saylor, Nevi Lowther, Sully, Tucker Ralph Ninas; along with other family members and close friends.
Graveside services for Mr. Jones will be held at 11 o'clock Monday, December 5, 2022 at Ozburn-Jones Cemetery with Dr. Randal Reese officiating. J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home has been entrusted with these arrangements.
