Obituary of Ralph H Maresco
Ralph H. Maresco, 92, of Vineland, passed away on April 17, 2025, at the Baker Place Assisted Living facility.
Born in Landisville, NJ, Ralph moved to Vineland at the age of 11, attending Sacred Heart Grammar and High Schools, where he graduated in 1950. Upon graduation, Ralph joined the U.S. Navy in 1951, serving for four years during the Korean War, before his honorable discharge in 1955.
Upon returning to Vineland, Ralph began working in the pizza industry, where he eventually partnered with the late Pat Leonardo in co-owning the iconic Pat & Ralph's Pizzeria on Landis Avenue. Upon selling the business in the late 70's, Ralph would eventually own Ralph's Restaurant, a true family-run business that Ralph operated with his late wife, Roseann, and two children, for eight years.
Ralph then transitioned to a career with the New Jersey Department of Agriculture, spending 13 years as Supervisor of the Jersey Fresh program. Upon his retirement, Ralph continued working for the NJDOA on a part-time basis, before fully retiring earlier this year.
Throughout his life, Ralph volunteered his cooking skills philanthropically, including lengthy stints with the Sacred Heart Smorgasbord, as well as starting up the Senior Lunch Program at St. Isidore's Parish.
He was predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Anne Maresco, his loving wife, Roseann (nee Messina), and his granddaughter, Angelique Maresco. He is survived by his sister, Sue Burns, of Hobe Sound, FL; his daughter, Denise Landi (Joe) of Vineland; his son, Ralph A. (Michelle) of Cincinnati, OH and Marco Island, FL; six grandchildren: Joseph Landi, Jr. (Toni), and Melissa Sheftall (Cody), Gabrielle Kerley (Ian), and Meredith, Austin and Katrina Maresco; and five great grandchildren: Jordyn, Kayla and CJ Sheftall, and Jackson and Connor Kerley.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Christ the Good Shepherd Parish/St. Isidore Church, 1655 Magnolia Road, Vineland, on Friday, April 25 at 11:00 a.m. A private Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland. Donations may be made in his memory to Christ the Good Shepherd Parish, 1655 Magnolia Road, Vineland, NJ 08361.
