Ralph J. "Barney" Miller

Ralph J. "Barney" Miller passed away peacefully at his winter home in Vero Beach, Florida, on December 18, 2025. Born in Albany, New York, to Ralph and Marion Miller, Barney grew up with a strong work ethic and a generous heart-qualities that shaped his entire life.

A graduate of Colonie Central High School, Barney went on to build a long and dedicated career with Tree of Life (A. Greenhouse), where he worked for 32 years before retiring.

Never one to sit still, he spent the next 20 years working alongside his son in the family's furniture business. If there was a project to be done, Barney was always the first to lend a hand.

Barney spent his summers on Heldeberg Lake in East Berne, New York, a place he loved and shared with family and friends. He met the love of his life, Barbara, in junior high school, and the two built a beautiful life together through 60 years of marriage.

He was a proud member of Teamsters Union Local 294 and the Elks Lodge, and he especially enjoyed flying RC planes during his winters in Vero Beach.

Barney is survived by his devoted wife, Barbara; his children, Barbara Henderson and Scott Miller; his beloved granddaughters, Rhianna and Melayna Miller; his brother, Marvin Miller.

He was predeceased by his parents and son-in-law, Charles Henderson.

Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.

Barney will be remembered for his kindness, his steady presence, and his willingness to help anyone in need. He will be deeply missed.
