Ralph Mocny Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hamlin & Hilbish Funeral Directors on Feb. 16, 2026.
Ralph John Mocny, age 97, of Mount Dora, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on February 13, 2026.

Ralph was born on August 8, 1928, in Chicago, Illinois, to his loving parents, Frank and Clara Mocny. A proud veteran of the United States Army, Ralph lived a life defined by dedication, service, and hard work. He was an entrepreneur and built a long and respected career as a general contractor, widely known for his business sense, integrity, and strong work ethic.

In 1953, Ralph married his beloved wife, Shirley, in Chicago, beginning a beautiful partnership that spanned more than seven decades. Sixty years ago, they made Florida their home, where Ralph continued to build not only homes and businesses, but lasting friendships and a vibrant community life.

Ralph was a man of many talents and passions. He loved golfing, skiing, fishing, riding motorcycles, and flying. A licensed pilot and helicopter pilot, he embraced adventure throughout his life and found great joy both in the skies and on the open road. An avid golfer, he was a member of multiple country clubs over the years, where he formed many cherished friendships. His adventurous spirit and curiosity for life never faded. He was also an active member of the Elks Lodge and a devoted parishioner of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Mount Dora.

He is survived by his cherished wife, Shirley; his children, Cindy (Tom) Baur, Pam Lowe, and Kimberly Krisan; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense pride and joy.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Mount Dora on Monday, March 2, 2026, at 9:00 a.m.

Ralph will be remembered for his warmth, humor, generosity, entrepreneurial spirit, adventurous nature, and steadfast love for his family. His legacy of devotion, integrity, and joy for life will live on in all who knew and loved him.
