Ralph Dana Morrison Jr. passed away peacefully on February 11, 2025, finding rest in the presence of God. He was known for his kind heart, forgiving nature, and strong work ethic. Ralph never met a stranger—he had a gift for conversation and could connect with anyone. A gentle giant, he was hardworking and dedicated. He often never realized the full extent of his own strength.
Ralph was born in Houston, Texas, to Ralph Dana Morrison Sr. and Mary Anne Morrison, who both preceded him in death along with three of his brothers David Waldschmidt, Benjamin Morrison, and Nolan Morrison. He proudly served in the Army National Guard. His time in the service stayed with him throughout his life. He enjoyed sharing stories and lessons from that season with those around him.
He is survived by his children, Justin Morrison, Tonya Morrison, and Taylor Morrison; his grandchildren, Reilley Ward, Paisley Morrison, Dutton Petty, Ryder Petty, and Angel Zarate; and his siblings, Laura Morrison Zimont, Norman Morrison, and Richard Morrison.Ralph was a man who could make anyone smile with his jokes and easygoing nature. He faced life's challenges with resilience and rarely complained. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
A funeral service to honor and celebrate Ralph’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday March 1, 2025 at 10AM at Broadview Baptist Church, with a meal to follow. Family and friends are invited to gather before and after the service to offer their condolences and share memories.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the ICU staff and Hendrick Hospice nurses for their compassionate care during Ralph’s final days. Their kindness and dedication brought comfort to both Ralph and his loved ones.As we grieve, we take comfort in the words of Jesus in
John 11:25-26:"I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die."Though Ralph is no longer with us, we find peace knowing he is at rest and free from suffering.
