Ralph Michael O'Connell, son of the late Stephen and Mary Makes O'Connell of Pittsfield Ma, died peacefully at his home surrounded by family.
He is survived by his brother Thomas S. O'Connell and joins his older brother Stevie T. on the other side.
He leaves his three children, Ryan and Rachel O'Connell and Rebecca Fontaine. He also leaves 7 grandchildren: Payton, Parker, Lucas, Will, Rhys, Maddy and Boston. He was loved and will be missed by his sister-in-law Gracemary O'Connell and his long time companion Gail Pettijohn.
Ralph loved kayaking on the lake, basketball games with the grandchildren, and time with family and friends. His laugh and genuine sense of humor and charisma will remain with us always.
Ralph attended Saint Johns Prep and graduated from Taconic High School in 1969. He had a flourishing fish business on Cape Cod and enjoyed many life experiences there. The Family, including Ralph, are very grateful that Hospice was involved.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of Dery Funeral Home

Dear Tom and the O´Connell family,
I was saddened to learn of RM´s passing. Although I hadn´t seen RM in many years, I have fond memories of him. He was always kind to me and had that Irish charm. I am so sorry for your loss. May you be comforted by memories of happy times, and knowing he´s with our Lord in eternal peace.
With deepest sympathy,
Mary Ellen Manning

RM (never call me Ralph) was my best childhood friend. I have so many fantastic memories of our days with the boat on the lake and of so many of our great sports endeavors we shared together. RM was always the best every time he went onto to court or the field. Rest in peace my friend.
