Ralph Madison Oakley Jr., 74, of Zionsville, IN passed away Sunday, May 12, 2019 at Hoosier Village.Ralph was born March 4, 1945 in Mattoon, IL, a son of the late Ralph Sr. and Margie (Knupp) Oakley. He graduated from Riverton High School in Illinois in 1963 and married the love of his life, Iris Lovekamp on April 12, 1964.Ralph retired from Panhandle Eastern Pipeline Co. on December 7, 2012 after 31 years of service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Iris; son Robert (Jiaxin) Oakley of Zionsville, daughter Tammy Jackson of Lebanon, brothers Roger (Sheila) Oakley of St. James, MO and Mark (Cindy) Oakley of Tuscola, IL; sisters Diane (James) Bierman of Tuscola, IL, Connie (Dan) Woolsey of Champagne, IL and Debbie (Marty) Briggs of Tuscola, IL; and grandchildren Tyler Jackson, August Oakley and Austin Oakley. He was preceded in death by his parents.Family and friends will gather Friday, May 24, 2019 for a memorial service at 3pm at Simplicity Funeral and Cremation Care, 125 W. Sycamore St. Zionsville, IN 46077. He will be laid to rest in Tuscola, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name may be made to St. Vincent Hospice, 8450 N. Payne Rd #100 Indianapolis, IN 46268 or the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718 Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
