Ralph Peebles Obituary

Published by Legacy on Sep. 29, 2025.
Ralph Hall Peebles, February 10, 1925 - September 20, 2025, long time resident of Excelsior, MN, passed away peacefully, age 100, at home with family on September 20th. He was a WW2 era Navy pilot, and a career corporate pilot - his total flying time was 20,916 hours and 55 minutes, flying 35 aircraft types over the years. From bicycle tripping and scuba diving, to boasting that he'd been in every country on the planet, Ralph was a consummate adventurer. He was also an environmentalist who reveled in all wildlife and loved canoeing, hiking and birding. He was known to make mean baking powder biscuits off the side of a canoe. With a glass of rum in one hand, and a cigar in the other, Ralph was known to espouse that moderation in everything was the key to longevity. We express deep gratitude to his caregivers Ereyna Haugen, Stacy Vevea, Alexx Remmer, Bryan Rocheleau, Misty Rapp, Rhonda Lugert, Laura Kuncl - and the others who brought extraordinary love, care and humor to his last 5 years. They all helped make his life immeasurably better. Surviving Ralph are daughters Ruth and Sarah (Rob Cruickshank), son Daniel, beloved granddaughter Audrey Drake, sister Patricia Gamble and many nieces and nephews. Ralph's kindness, gentleness and thoughtfulness touched many. He was loved and will be dearly missed. Services will be private.
