Full Obituary
Ralph P. Renschen, age 70, of Trenton, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, October 18, 2024, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous five-year battle with glioblastoma. He was born February 2, 1954, the son of the late Paul H. and Pauline K. (nee Rohling) Renschen.
Ralph married the love of his life, Tracie Renschen (nee Hardin) on June 23, 1990, at Scott Air Force Base and she survives in Trenton. In addition to his wife, Ralph is survived by his children, Kim (Randy) Voss of Aviston, Jill (Phillip) Beckmann of Breese, and Josh (Danni) Hardin of Trenton; grandchildren, Kelsey (Jack) Thomsen, Karsyn Voss, Kendyl Voss, Klay Voss, Jillian Beckmann, Maryn Beckmann, Jace Hardin, Payton Hardin, and Rory Hardin; great-grandchildren, Rhett, Stella, and Cohen Thomsen; sister, Mary Jo Buller of Breese; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Teena (Dan) Wapner of California and Suzie (Matt) Montag of Omaha; nieces and nephew; and beloved cats, Putter, Chester, Coco, and Boo Kitty.
In addition to Ralph's parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Michael Buller and father-in-law and mother-in-law, D. Ray and Sharon (nee Hobbs) Hardin.
A 1972 graduate of Mater Dei Catholic High School, Ralph had a passion for baseball and was a talented pitcher. In his senior year, he pitched a perfect game against the Okawville Rockets, and later, earned a place in the Clinton County Baseball Hall of Fame. He spent a short time as the owner of Renschen's Tavern before embarking on a long career with UPS Freight as a truck driver, from which he eventually retired.
Ralph's interests were varied and included golfing, vacationing at the beach with family and friends, hosting pool parties and BBQs, and spending time boating and camping in his younger years. Above all, Ralph's greatest joy came from his family and supporting his grandchildren in their school activities and sporting events.
Memorial Service will be Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Trenton with Deacon Tom Ritzheimer officiating.
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 22, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Trenton.
