A memorial service for Ralph Schwindt, 87, of Dickinson, will be 10:00 am Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Stevenson Funeral Home.
Ralph passed away on October 28, 2022, after a long life filled with loving relationships.
Ralph was born on August 11, 1935, the oldest of six children to Joseph and Ida Schwindt. He attended St. Joseph’s Grade School and Central High School, where earned Eagle Scout and played basketball. Ralph went on to work several apprentice jobs before enlisting in the US Navy. Ralph served for three years during the Korean War and then returned to Dickinson.
His family and friends remember him as a jolly man, eager to laugh and smile while offering witty comments. Ralph valued hard work and spent his career as an electrician in Tampa, Florida and at Falkirk Mine in Underwood, North Dakota from September 1977 until he retired in February 1997.
Ralph is survived by his loving wife, Susie Schwindt; his sons, James (Cindy) Schwindt and Butch (Monica) Schwindt; step-children, Travis (Audrey) Geiser, Todd (Stephanie) Geiser; Troy (Tiffany) Geiser, Tammy (Kerry) Neuberger, and Tonya (Brad) Geiser; sisters, Dorothy (Jim) Wilson, Margaret (Robert) Law, and Alice (Ralph) Schulz; sister-in-law, Vivian Schwindt; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was so proud of his 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren residing in Florida, Texas, and North Dakota.
He was preceded in death by his sons, Kurt and Dan Schwindt; parents, Ida and Joseph Schwindt; brother, David Schwindt; sister, Viola Heinle; and wives, Daphne (Kluch) Schwindt and Dixie (Drader) Schwindt.
