Ralph F. Spratlin

Ralph Spratlin, born July 31, 1954, in Grenada, Mississippi, gained his wings on March 28, 2025, in Olive Branch, Mississippi. Ralph was very proud to be a Mississippian. He never missed an opportunity to tell you stories from his life in Grenada. He truly loved his hometown where he was born and raised. As an adult he moved north from Grenada to Hernando. He began his first career at Snap-on Tools, where he distinguished himself through years of hard work and dedication. He earned numerous awards over the years. He also had a second career as a truck driver. He traveled many miles in his twenty plus years over the road. This career definitely allowed him to see God's glory and feel the freedom he so dearly loved. Ralph has a zest of life that many long for. He was an avid motorcyclist. He found lots of joy on his bike. He was a member of The DeSoto Wings Chapter Y Family. He also enjoyed attending and watching streetcar racing. He had a collection of eagles that reflected his admiration of strength and freedom. Ralph was a devoted member of Longview Point Baptist Church. Ralph's heart was full of faith. Some may even say faith was at the heart of his life. He had so much love for his church and church family. Above all else, Ralph was a loving and devoted husband to Marcia Spratlin. He leaves behind many loved family members, starting with three sons and daughters-in-law Kevin Spratlin (Kelly), Dan Spratlin (Kim), Mark Parks (Lesley); five wonderful grandchildren Ellen Spratlin, Logan Spratlin, Brayden Garrett, Kaleb Parks, and Karsyn Parks; two special great-grandchildren Greyson Parks and Madelyn Parks; three sisters he was very proud of, Melodie Taylor (Gary), Gail Oliver, and Lisa Fortenberry (Tony). Lastly a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents O.D. Spratlin and Majorie Trussell Spratlin, and his late wife, Suzy Spratlin. Services for Ralph Spratlin will be held on Friday, April 4, at Longview Point Baptist Church, located at 1100 McIngvale Rd., Hernando, MS. Visitation will take place from 12:00-2:00 pm with a funeral to follow, and a private burial for family at DeSoto Memorial Gardens. Ralph's legacy lives on in the memories of those who knew him. May his memory bring peace and inspiration to all who knew him. He touched many lives by never meeting a stranger.
