Obituary published on Legacy.com by Deer Park Funeral Directors - Deer Park on May 9, 2023.
Ralph Dean Sutton, age 63, entered the arms of Jesus Christ on April 25, 2023. Ralph was born on May 11, 1959 to Rutherford Dale Sutton and Mary Angel Solis in Bexar County. Ralph grew up in
San Antonio, TX and moved to
Pasadena, TX to practice his craft as a Pipe Fitter and settled down to raise his three daughters.
Ralph was the life of the party and loved fiercely. If you were a friend of Ralph...you were family. Ralph had a strong faith in God and led his children to Christ. If you knew Ralph you knew he was fearless. Ralph's Faith in God provided him an armor of protection like no other.
Ralph cheated death on many occasions and was even revived twice. He lived for the thrill, he loved fast cars, loud concerts, roller coasters, flying planes and spending time with his family.
Ralph had a passion for music that led him to follow the footsteps of his grandfather, Oklahoma Territory, when he learned to play the fiddle by ear. His favorite song to play was the Orange Blossom Special. He shared that passion with his children and his three daughters still play the violin from time to time. Ralph had a love for Foosball where he met lifelong friends playing the sport but his favorite thing in life...was being a grandfather.
Ralph was one of a kind and was very quick witted. His innovation and determination got him on stage at rock concerts with a homemade press pass, into drag races with tires in the back seat, frequently joining the Dean and Rog show's Torture Tuesday, winning contests, riding his pony to deliver newspapers and more stories than one can remember.
What Ralph's children will miss most is knowing they were safe with him around. He was the ultimate protector. Ralph was a fighter...for his friends...for his family...he was the only one you needed in your corner. He was known for his sense of humor and heart of gold, he would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it.
Ralph is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Rutherford and Mary Sutton, his grandparents and several aunts and uncles.
Ralph is survived by his children, Shanna Sutton, Amber Sutton-Chapman, Ryan Martinez and Kevin Sutton. His grandchildren, Kailey Gould, Skyla Wilson, Mackenzie Martinez, Presley Martinez, Russell Chapman, Brooklyn Sutton, Jordyn Sutton and Jayden Sutton. His brothers and sisters, Jimmy, Glenn, Shirley and Donna Sutton. His nieces and nephews as well as many cousins.
Revelation 21:14-God will wipe away every tear from their eyes: there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.
A celebration of life will be held on May 21, 2023 from 2:00-5:00pm in the Chapel of Deer Park Funeral Directors.
