Ralph Tanenbaum, 87, of Alpharetta, GA, formerly of Spartanburg, SC, died Friday, September 5, 2008, at St. Joseph�s Hospital in Atlanta, GA. Born August 3, 1921, in Augusta, GA, he was the son of the late Harry and Pearl Levy Tanenbaum. A graduate of Spartanburg High School, he attended Wofford College and was the former owner of Tanny�s in Spartanburg. He is a member of Temple B�Nai Israel of Spartanburg where he was a former officer of the Temple Board and a member of B�Nai Brith. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Selma Anderson Tanenbaum; two sons, Dr. Marc Tanenbaum and his wife Shelley of Atlanta, GA, and Jak Tanenbaum and his wife Lynden of Portland, OR; a daughter, Lee Tanenbaum of Roswell, GA; three grandsons, Daniel Magid of Durham, NC, Oren Magid of Washington, D.C., and Roman Jakien of Portland, OR; five granddaughters, Jamie Wiegmann of Roswell, GA, Sara Erickson of Acworth, GA, Alisa Stoughton of Charlottesville, VA, Jessica Tanenbaum of New York City, NY, and Kasey Jakien of Portland, OR; and seven great-grandchildren, Eliana, Makana, Jayden, and Leland Erickson of Acworth, GA, Sydney Magid of Durham, NC, and Aidan and Lorelei Stoughton of Charlottesville, VA. He was predeceased by a brother, Joel Tanenbaum; and a sister, Thelma Yoffe. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, September 7, 2008, at Floyd�s Greenlawn Chapel conducted by Rabbi Yossi Liebowitz. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Temple B�Nai Israel, 146 Heywood Avenue, Spartanburg, SC 29302. An online guest register is available at www.floydmortuary.com. Floyd�s Greenlawn Chapel
