Ramanbhai Shankerbhai Patel, lovingly known as Ramanbhai, was born on August 15, 1930, in Sunav, Gujarat, India. He embarked on his final journey on November 7, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, humility, and dedication that will continue to inspire all who knew him. Ramanbhai was a humble man with a heart full of compassion and dedication. His journey through life was an embodiment of the Bhagavad Gita verse that states, "Whatever happened, happened for the good. Whatever is happening, is happening for the good. Whatever will happen, will also happen for the good."
Ramanbhai was a devoted teacher, retiring from Chingola Secondary School in Zambia. His love for education was not limited to the classroom. A passionate photographer, he shared his craft with the students, leaving an indelible mark on their lives. His dedication saw him rise to the position of Head of the Mathematics Department, a testament to his commitment to his profession. A life member of ISKCON, Chingola Hindu Samaj, Luanshya Hindu Association, and a devoted member of the Sathya Saibaba organisation, Ramanbhai was also the religious chair of LHA (Luanshya Hindu Association) and headed the Annual Ghandhi Competition. His love for traveling and road trips was well-known. From his humble beginnings in Sunav, his journey took him to Vadodara, Navli, Tanzania, Zambia, USA, Australia, and back to India, each time enriching his spiritual journey.
Family and spirituality were the anchors of Ramanbhai's life. He was widowed in 2003, but he found solace in his family and spiritual journey. He is survived by his sons Jayesh, Rakesh, and Mitesh Patel, daughters-in-law Priti, Geeta, and Bela Patel, and grandchildren Vatsal, Parul, Alisha, and Dhaval Patel. He is preceded in death by his parents, Shankarbhai Patel and Kashiben Patel. Ramanbhai's last words, "Sai Ram," were a reflection of his enduring faith and devotion. His life was a testament to the power of love, faith, and resilience.
