Obituary of Ramiro Vargas Limón
Ramiro Vargas Limón, nacido el 28 de octubre de 1932 en Rancho Los Yugos, Jalisco, México, falleció en su casa rodeado de su familia, dejando tras de sí una vida marcada por una dedicación inquebrantable a su familia y a su trabajo. Durante los últimos 12 años estableció su hogar en Joliet, trayendo consigo la fortaleza, el cariño y la ética de trabajo que lo definieron.
Hombre trabajador, de carácter fuerte y corazón tierno, Ramiro fue un esposo amoroso para Josefina Ponce Núñez, y era conocido en su familia como un gran padre, abuelo atento y un modelo ejemplar. Consagró su vida a proveer y apoyar a sus seres queridos, siempre dispuesto a darlo todo.
Ramiro deja en vida a Josefina; a sus hijos: María Ruvalcaba (Miguel), Pablo Vargas (Flora), Lourdes García (César), Martina Jauregui (Jesús), Griselda Ulloa (Óscar), Ramiro Vargas Jr., Yesenia Hernández (José), Elva Jauregui (Armando) y Lupe Vargas (Lucy). Asimismo, deja 33 nietos y 39 bisnietos, quienes continuarán llevando adelante su legado de entrega, amor y fortaleza.
Fue precedido en la muerte por su hijo Ezequiel Vargas (Aurelia) y nieto Oscar Ulloa Jr, cuyo recuerdo permanecía cercano a su corazón.
La vida de Ramiro fue una de servicio: a su familia, a su comunidad y a su trabajo. Fue un ejemplo de fortaleza ante los retos, de amabilidad en los detalles cotidianos y de devoción sin reservas hacia quienes amaba. Aunque ninguna palabra puede abarcar por completo la profundidad de su huella, su presencia resonará por siempre en quienes tuvieron el privilegio de conocerlo.
La visitación se llevará a cabo el Domingo 26 de Octubre de 2025 de 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. en la funeraria Fred C. Dames, 3200 Black Road, Joliet. Los servicios fúnebres se realizarán el Lunes 27 de Octubre de 2025 a las 10:00 a.m. desde la funeraria a la Iglesia Nuestra Señora del Monte Carmelo, 205 E. Jackson Street, Joliet. El entierro se llevará a cabo en el Cemeterio Mt. Olivet, Joliet.

Ramiro Vargas Limón, born October 28, 1932 in Rancho Los Yugos, Jalisco, Mexico, passed away peacefully in Joliet, Illinois after a life marked by unwavering dedication to his family and work. For the past 12 years he made Joliet his home and brought with him the strength, love, and work ethic that defined him.
A hardworking man of great character, Ramiro was a loving husband to his spouse, Josefina Ponce Núñez, and was known to his family as a strong father, a caring grandfather, and a cherished role model. He committed himself fully to providing for and supporting his loved ones, always willing to give his all.
Ramiro is survived by Josefina; his children Maria Ruvalcaba (Miguel), Pablo Vargas (Flora), Lourdes Garcia (Cesar), Martina Jauregui (Jesus), Griselda Ulloa (Oscar), Ramiro Vargas Jr., Yesenia Hernandez (Jose), Elva Jauregui (Armando), and Lupe Vargas (Lucy). He also leaves behind 33 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren who will continue to carry forward his legacy of dedication, love, and resilience.
He was preceded in death by his son Ezequiel Vargas (Aurelia) and grandson Oscar Ulloa Jr, whose memory remained close to his heart.
Ramiro's life was one of service - to his family, his community, and his work. He exemplified strength in the face of challenges, kindness in everyday moments, and unwavering devotion to those he loved. Though words cannot fully capture the depth of his impact, his presence will forever resonate in the lives of all who had the privilege to know him.
Visitation will be held Sunday, October 26, 2025 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Road, Joliet. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 27, 2025 at 10:00 a.m., from the funeral home to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church for Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes gestures of support that honor Ramiro's lifelong commitment to family and community.
