Ramon O. Carrasco, 85, passed away on December 17, 2025. He was born in Ojinaga Chih. Mexico to his parents Jesus and Viviana Carrasco on August 10, 1940.
Ramon was a long-time, lifelong resident of Van Horn, TX. His world was centered on the people he brought into it. His enduring influence shaped his Carrasco family. He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, and a friend to all.
He worked as a Rancher for many years. He also worked for the County and The City of Van Horn until he retired. His life was marked by hard work and love for his children and grandchildren. In his younger years he loved riding horses and being outdoors. During his retired years he enjoyed driving around town and drinking his early morning coffee with his friends. Ramon will be greatly missed by everyone.
Those left behind to cherish his memories are his sons Robert Carrasco, Ramon Carrasco Jr. and his wife Blanca, Richard Carrasco and his wife Veronica, and Rey Carrasco, his grandchildren Isaiah Carrasco, Adam Carrasco, Richard Carrasco Jr., Bethany Carrasco, Bryan Carrasco, Logan Carrasco, and his wife Crystal. Shelly Carrasco, Ashley Carrasco, Angel Carrasco, and great granddaughter Audrey Carrasco.
He is survived by his brother Antonio Carrasco and is preceded in death by. His parents Jesus and Viviana Carrasco, and his brother Trinidad Carrasco.
Services will take place on Monday, December 22, 2025, beginning with a viewing from 10:00am to 5:00pm at Heritage Funeral Home, followed by The Holy Rosary at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church at 7:00pm to 8:30pm. The Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday December 23, 2025, at 10:00am at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. The mass will be officiated by Father Sergio Legarreta. The burial will follow at Van Horn Cemetery.
Pallbearers serving are Isaiah Carrasco, Adam Carrasco, Bryan Carrasco, Logan Carrasco, Angel Carrasco, Cody Davis and Fernando Carrasco.
The funeral arrangements are in the care of Heritage Funeral Home of Van Horn, Texas.
