Ramon Gomez Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rudy Garza Funeral Home - Harlingen on Mar. 26, 2026.
Ramon Gomez, Jr., 49, entered into eternal rest on March 24, 2026, in Harlingen, Texas.

Ramon was a proud graduate of Harlingen High School, Class of 1994. Shortly after graduation, he began his career with Walmart in San Benito when the store first opened, and he remained a dedicated and valued employee until his passing.

Ramon was a loving son, brother, and uncle who held a special place in his heart for his family. He especially cherished time spent with his nieces and nephews, creating lasting memories playing video games and sharing his passion for computers. He enjoyed "talking shop" about technology with his nephew Jacob, and took great joy in introducing his nephews Isaac, Kaleb, and Matias to comics, taking them to Comic Book Day, and creating moments that will be deeply treasured. Ramon's kind spirit, loyalty, and love for his family will be remembered always, and he will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his father, Ramon Gomez of Harlingen; his two sisters, Melissa Ramirez (Hector) of Odessa, Texas, and Deborah Sanchez (Lehi) of Harlingen; and his seven nieces and nephews, Jacob Sanchez (Aubree), Isaac Ramirez, Mia Jenkins (Sam), Kaleb Ramirez, Emma Sanchez, Matias Ramirez, and Laura Sanchez.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Graciela Gomez.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 29, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with family present from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM, at Rudy Garza Chapel of Peace in Harlingen, Texas. Services will continue on Monday, March 30, 2026, with visitation beginning at 9:00 AM, followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2320 Haine Drive in Harlingen, Texas, with Bishop Randy Elkins officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in La Féria .

Pallbearers will be Oscar Gomez, Mike Gomez, Jacob Sanchez, Isaac Ramirez, Kaleb Ramirez, and Matias Ramirez.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Rudy Garza Funeral Home in Harlingen, Texas.

Ramon will be remembered for his gentle heart, his dedication to his family, and the joy he brought to those around him. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
